Jobs Academy is a free, year-long membership designed to support women who are looking for work, more work, or new work.

Women of any age, from any location and any background, looking to make a career change in the next year, be it a new job, more hours or getting back to work after taking time off due to caring commitments are invited to apply.

Applications for the current intake commencing January 2022 are now closed. However, we encourage you to submit your Expression of Interest as we plan on opening further intakes and offering Jobs Academy to even more women in the future. By expressing your interest, you will be the first to know when the next intake opens.

We’re partnering with Gidget Foundation Australia for our pilot intake to offer particular support to women who have experienced perinatal depression and anxiety and are looking to get back to work.

No, you don’t have to be unemployed to apply.

We developed Jobs Academy to address the challenges women face in the workplace – including the fact that women are often underemployed, holding multiple part time positions, or facing difficult decisions in considering full time work, like the cost of child care.

If you’re unemployed, underemployed, employed in a workplace in which you’d like to seek a promotion, or employed and looking for your next career opportunity – then Jobs Academy is for you.

Applying for Jobs Academy is a straightforward two-step process. First, you register your interest above – it’ll take you less than five minutes to complete this step.

When the next intake opens, an application will be sent to you. It’s a survey of questions designed to tell us about you, your employment history and your career goals.

The survey takes less than 15 minutes to complete and after you hit the ‘submit’ button – you’ve officially applied for Jobs Academy! It’s that simple.

With the support of the Department of the Prime Minister and Cabinet’s Office for Women, we’re able to offer 140 places in the pilot of Jobs Academy at no cost to participants.

We’re actively working on opening up Jobs Academy to hundreds more women in the future, which is why it’s vital that you register your interest if you’d like to take part.

Jobs Academy is completely virtual and open to women across Australia, including those in regional and rural areas.

We’re currently speaking with employer partners to ensure that access to remote work and opportunities for women in rural and regional areas is prioritised in Jobs Academy. It’s our goal to connect you with the right employers and make sure you have all the skills and confidence required to forge ahead with your career – regardless of where you’re located.

Absolutely! You’re still eligible for Jobs Academy if you’ve recently secured a new job, or opened a business. 

We’re focused on developing a membership that will allow you to enter or return to the workforce with confidence, secure in your abilities, and prepared for the challenges we face at work as women. We’ve got you covered.

If you’ve just opened a business, started a new job or are planning to take one of these exciting steps in the near future, we’d encourage you to include this detail in stage two of your application, so we can get a good sense of how best to build a membership for you.

On average Jobs Academy participants will have up to two hours of activity per week, with some weeks requiring more, and others less.

We’ve designed Jobs Academy to work within your schedule so everything will be online and flexible.

Jobs Academy will include twelve months of webinars, mentoring sessions and online events. Our sessions cover a whole host of topics designed to be useful in any industry.

We’ll cover topics like financial literacy, confidence in the workplace, negotiating flexible work arrangements, managing up, conflict resolution, resilience and managing stress, to name but a few.
